A collection of songs that showcase the different moods and genres available on the Chapman Stick.

After several years of creating peaceful New Age albums, I wanted to return to some of my other musical roots, especially the use of effects. The Chapman Stick can be used with virtually any effect pedal or device used by other electric instruments, i.e. distorted leads, wah-wahs, phasers, flangers and guitar synth. It’s like a blank musical canvas and I wanted to take advantage of those capabilities once again.

With the exception of a few tracks, most of these songs are still peaceful enough to fit into the ambient New Age genre, but I wanted to musically explore further. Some of the tracks veer off into Latin, country, blues, and even classical. It was like getting a palette of all new colors to paint with.

Digging back in my archives, I found tracks that were never completed and I found others that needed to be revisited. It was a fascinating journey that reminded me how much I love the creative process of music composition and production using only the Chapman Stick as my paintbrush.
